Tips
Start with 25/5 — the classic Pomodoro ratio (25 min work, 5 min break) is a great starting point.
Use the streak counter — watching your streak grow is a powerful motivator to keep going.
Enable auto-start — removes the friction of manually starting each session, keeping your flow going.
Try the video export — create "study with me" or "focus timer" videos for social media or YouTube.
Take real breaks — step away from the screen during breaks. The timer keeps running so you can focus on resting.
Customize the timer name — set it to match your task (e.g., "Writing", "Coding", "Reading") to stay contextually focused.
Alternatives
Forest App — gamified focus timer that grows virtual trees.
Be Focused — macOS/iOS Pomodoro timer with task tracking.
Focusmate — virtual co-working sessions with timed work blocks.
FAQ
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. It uses a timer to break work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks (5 minutes). After four sessions, you take a longer break (15-30 minutes).
Yes. Once the page is loaded, the entire timer runs in your browser with no server connection needed. You can bookmark the page and use it offline after the initial load.
A gentle audio alert plays and the timer automatically switches to the next phase (break or work). If auto-start is enabled, the next session begins immediately. Otherwise, you need to click Start manually.
You can generate a WebM video of the timer countdown. Choose the duration, label, ring color, background, and speed. The 1x mode renders every second as a frame for smooth playback. Fast-forward mode (30x-1000x) compresses the entire timer into a short clip.
Click the Focus button to enter a black fullscreen overlay with only the ring timer visible. The cursor hides after 2 seconds of inactivity for maximum focus. Press any key, move the mouse, or click to exit.
